Digital Preservation Policy

Clinical & Molecular Biomedicine (CMB) is committed to the long-term preservation, accessibility, and integrity of its published scholarly content.

Long-Term Digital Preservation

Published content of Clinical & Molecular Biomedicine is preserved through the Internet Archive, an independent digital preservation service.

The journal deposits and preserves its published scholarly record, including, where applicable:

  • final published articles (Version of Record);
  • article metadata;
  • article landing pages;
  • issue and volume pages; and
  • other relevant journal content.

The purpose of this preservation arrangement is to ensure that published material remains accessible over the long term, including in the event of technical failure, website interruption, or discontinuation of the journal's online platform.

Internal Backup and Storage

In addition to external preservation through the Internet Archive, Editory-Press LLC maintains internal copies and backups of journal content and publication-related files as part of its publishing infrastructure.

Internal records may include:

  • published PDF files;
  • article metadata;
  • figures and supplementary materials;
  • production files; and
  • other files necessary to maintain the scholarly record.

External digital preservation and internal backup procedures are maintained as complementary safeguards.

Preservation of the Scholarly Record

Clinical & Molecular Biomedicine is committed to maintaining the integrity of the published scholarly record.

Where an article is subsequently subject to a correction, corrigendum, erratum, expression of concern, retraction, or other post-publication update, the journal preserves the relevant publication record and clearly identifies the relationship between the original article and any subsequent update.

Published articles are not removed solely because they have been corrected or retracted, except in exceptional circumstances where removal is required for legal, ethical, privacy, or safety reasons.

Persistent Identification

Where applicable, published articles are assigned Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) to provide persistent identification and reliable linking to the scholarly record.

DOIs and associated publication metadata are maintained separately from the journal website's internal URLs to support persistent discovery and citation.

Preservation Workflow

Clinical & Molecular Biomedicine incorporates digital preservation into its publication workflow.

Following publication, journal content is periodically checked to ensure that:

  • published articles remain accessible;
  • DOI links resolve correctly;
  • preserved copies are available through the designated preservation service; and
  • publication metadata remain accurate and consistent.

The journal may also preserve relevant journal-level pages and policy information to maintain the historical context of the publication.

Future Preservation Arrangements

Clinical & Molecular Biomedicine may establish additional preservation arrangements with recognized scholarly repositories or preservation services in the future.

Any additional preservation services will be added to this policy only after an active preservation arrangement has been established.

Responsibility for Preservation

The publisher, Editory-Press LLC, is responsible for maintaining the journal's digital-preservation procedures and for ensuring that appropriate measures are taken to safeguard published content over the long term.
