Purpose
Editory Press is committed to maintaining the accuracy, integrity, transparency, and permanence of the scholarly record.
Editory Press participates in Crossmark, a service provided by Crossref that enables readers to identify the current status of a published work and determine whether important changes have been made after publication.
Articles participating in Crossmark display the Crossmark “Check for updates” button. By clicking the button, readers can view the current status of the article and information about any registered corrections, retractions, withdrawals, or other significant post-publication updates.
This policy applies to scholarly content published by Editory Press for which Crossmark metadata has been registered.
Version of Record
Once an article has been formally published, it becomes part of the permanent scholarly record.
Editory Press does not normally replace or remove the published Version of Record without an appropriate notice.
Where a significant post-publication change is required, the original publication will remain identifiable and the relevant correction, retraction, withdrawal, or other update will be transparently linked to it.
Changes After Publication
Post-publication changes are assessed according to their significance.
Minor typographical, formatting, or production corrections that do not affect the interpretation, scientific conclusions, attribution, or citation of the article may be corrected without issuing a formal Crossmark update.
Changes that may affect the interpretation, reliability, attribution, or scholarly use of an article require a formal post-publication notice and will be registered with Crossref where appropriate.
Post-publication updates may include:
- Correction — correction of an error that does not invalidate the main findings.
- Erratum — correction of an error introduced during the publication or production process.
- Corrigendum — correction of an error originating from the authors.
- Clarification — additional information necessary to clarify part of the published work.
- Addendum — supplementary information added to a published article.
- Expression of Concern — notice informing readers of serious unresolved concerns while an investigation is underway.
- Partial Retraction — retraction of a clearly identifiable part of an article while other parts remain reliable.
- Retraction — notice that the findings or integrity of the article are no longer considered reliable.
- Withdrawal — withdrawal of a published item under circumstances in which withdrawal is considered the appropriate scholarly-record action.
- Removal — removal of content only in exceptional circumstances, such as serious legal, privacy, safety, or ethical requirements.
- New Version — publication of a substantially revised version where versioning is appropriate.
- New Edition — publication of a formally designated new edition where applicable.
The appropriate type of update will be determined by the journal's editors and Editory Press in accordance with publication-ethics standards and Crossref metadata practices.
Corrections
A formal correction may be published when an error affects the accuracy or interpretation of an article but does not invalidate its principal findings.
A correction notice will describe the change clearly and will be linked to the original article.
Where required for Crossmark, the correction notice will be registered with Crossref and its DOI relationship with the original publication will be recorded.

Expressions of Concern
An Expression of Concern may be issued when credible concerns exist regarding the reliability, integrity, ethical status, or provenance of a publication but an investigation has not yet reached a final conclusion.
The notice will be linked to the relevant article and its status will be updated when the investigation is concluded.
Retractions
An article may be retracted when its findings are considered unreliable because of major error, research misconduct, plagiarism, fabrication or falsification, serious ethical violations, duplicate publication, or other circumstances that substantially undermine the integrity of the work.
Retracted articles will normally remain accessible as part of the permanent scholarly record.
The article will be clearly identified as retracted, and a retraction notice explaining the reason for the action will be published and linked to the original article.
Crossref and Crossmark metadata will be updated to reflect the retracted status.
Withdrawal and Removal
Withdrawal or removal of published content is reserved for exceptional circumstances.
Editory Press seeks to preserve the scholarly record whenever possible. Where complete removal of content is required for legal, privacy, safety, or other compelling reasons, a bibliographic record or explanatory notice will normally remain available whenever legally and ethically possible.
Manuscript withdrawal before formal publication is governed separately by the relevant journal's manuscript-withdrawal policy and does not normally constitute a Crossmark post-publication update.
Preservation of the Scholarly Record
Correction, retraction and other post-publication notices will be permanently linked to the publication to which they relate.
Editory Press will not obscure significant changes to published scholarly content by silently replacing the Version of Record.
Where an updated publication or notice receives a separate DOI, relationships between the original work and the update will be registered in Crossref metadata.
Crossmark Status and Metadata
Editory Press will maintain Crossmark metadata for participating content and will register significant post-publication changes with Crossref as promptly as reasonably possible.
The Crossmark record may include information concerning:
- the current status of the publication;
- corrections or retractions;
- publication history;
- peer-review procedures;
- publication ethics;
- copyright and licensing;
- funding information;
- data availability; and
- other information relevant to the provenance and integrity of the scholarly record.
The absence of a registered update indicates that Editory Press has not recorded an editorially significant post-publication change for that item.
Reporting Concerns About Published Content
Authors, readers, reviewers, institutions, and other parties who identify a possible error, ethical concern, or integrity issue in published Editory Press content are encouraged to contact the relevant journal Editorial Office.

Reports should identify the publication concerned, preferably including its title and DOI, and provide sufficient information to allow the matter to be assessed.
All credible concerns will be evaluated in accordance with the journal's publication-ethics procedures.
Policy Maintenance
Editory Press may update this policy when Crossref requirements, publication-ethics standards, or the publisher's editorial procedures change.
The current version of this policy will remain available through its DOI and the Editory Press website.
